Halloween at Brentwood Park

Sorcha took the boys to Brentwood for Halloween this year. They both had a great time. They were both dragons. Too cute! She and Gigi made the costumes. Lot's of knitting... They turned out great.

A Day at Brentwood

Sorcha, Thomas, William and I went to Brentwood park yesterday for some outside time. Thomas loves Brentwood. It's just a real nice park. Lots of shade, lots of room to run around and especially a sandbox. Thomas loves to play in the sandbox. Although, this trip he didn't want to because it was too hot. Oh well... He did have a great time. At one point he chased a couple girls around the playscape as a dinosaur. They all loved it.

Thomas Giving Duck a Haircut

Every now and then your kids do things that are just too adorable. For whatever reason Thomas felt like on of his stuffed animals needed a haircut. Why not! Take a look at these videos to see Thomas the future barber.

William Playing by Himself

William's getting to be a pretty big boy. He can sit up now and even play by himself. Heres's a short movie of him sitting in Thomas' room playing by himself. More movies here.

The Dinosaurs are Coming!

Thomas has been on a huge dinosaur kick lately. Any of the videos he's watching are either the cartoon Land Before Time or the the BBC series about dinosaurs (which are really cool I might add). So... He was very excited to hear that the dinosaurs have come to Austin. Zilker Park is hosting a dinosaur exhibit until the end of November. Needless to say, Thomas had a great time. See the pictures here.

William Loves His Brother

Or should I say just thinks he's really funny. For the longest time, Thomas was the only one who could get William really laughing. It's not quite the same anymore, but he still gets a kick out him.

Click here for a few more videos.

South Park Meadows

We met Frank and Jen at the South Park meadows playscape the other day. I had never been there. It's pretty cool. Lot's to do. Thomas kept trying to figure out why there were two girls that looked the same. We got some decent pictures. I was also able to get a little video..

Too cute!!!!

William is Getting Older.

Has it been 7 months already. It's really not possible. It seems like just yesterday that I was totally and utterly freaking out while he was being born breech. I got over it. It actually wasn't that big of a deal, I just thought it was. Well here are some cute shots of William in his chair. I've also included a short movie as well. Enjoy.

Man... Does everyone love that noise as much as I do... ;)

Trip to Seattle

Man... Did we have a good time in Seattle. It was a well deserved vacation. It was great to see Pat, Heather and Nolan. Thomas loved seeing Nolan. It was all about Uncle Nolan. He just wanted to do what Uncle Nolan wanted to do. Here are all the pictures and videos.

Brad's 38th Birthday... Ouch!

Well... I turned 38 this year. 40 is just around the corner. I can already feel the aches and pains in my joints. Well, maybe not, but I'm sure they are coming soon. We did have fun celebrating though. We had a great time at the Peter Pan Mini Golf here in Austin. Hadn't played putt-putt in ages. It was a lot of fun. Click here for all the pictures.

A Day at the Pool with Daddy

This weekend, Thomas and I went to a really nice pool in Pflugerville. It was a little bit of a drive but we ended up having a great time. It was like a mini water park. It had a kid's size water slide as well as really big one. It was a great summer day. Click here for all the pictures.

Nana & Grandpa Visit Austin

It's Thomas' birthday party this weekend so Nana and Grandpa came up to see him and William as well. It's great that they live close enough where they can come up to Austin on a regular basis to see their grandkids. I know Thomas loves it when they come into town. I'm sure William will get just as excited when he is older. Click here for some pictures of the visit.

Thomas' 3rd Birthday Party

Gigi arranged a great birthday party at a firehouse in Round Rock for Thomas' 3rd birthday. Family and friends were all able to attend. Nana and Grandpa came up from Houston. Pat was able to come down from Seattle and most of Thomas' friends were able to attend as well. After the firehouse, we all went over to Gigi's for cake and ice cream. Needless to say, Thomas and a great time. Click here for all the pictures.

Rescue Woody

This was about 3 weeks ago but I'm just now getting around to posting it. We put a few bungy cords in Thomas' stocking this year and he continues to come up with new ways to play with them.

Hiking at Mayfield Preserve

You'd be surprised how many places there are around Austin that you can going hiking. One of our favorites is Mayfield Preserve. For the uninformed, that's the place with the peacocks. It's really cool. you get to walk right by a bunch of peacocks, hike some great trails without leaving the city limits. Click here for more pictures.

Christmas Morning...

It's hard being Santa... Sorcha and I decided that Santa was going to give Thomas his new "big boy" bike this year. That bike is the Glider Rider. If any of you don't know what that is I encourage you to check it out. It's very cool. Well... It came in the mail about 2 weeks ago. We hid it so Thomas would never find it. We waited patiently for him to go to sleep Christmas Eve. I finally opened the box and started to assemble it. It was missing a crucial screw and nut to hold the seat on. Ouch! Lesson learned... don't wait until Christmas Eve to check to see if all the parts are included in the box. Needless to say, I'm kind of freaking out at this point. I'm not the most handy person in the world, so I don't have a stocked work bench with all types of screws, etc. I do have some, but not very many. So... I went out into the garage to hunt for something that would work. After a long and arduous hunt... I found 1 screw and nut that would work. I couldn't believe it. I actually had something that would work. I screwed on the seat and went to bed. It's hard being Santa.

Happy little boy...

Christmas Eve at the Cavanaugh household. The house wasn't completely ready but it was okay. We still need a lot of finishing touches but it was nice to have our family over for Christmas in our new house. Sorcha made a fantastic roast beef with yorkshire pudding. My favorite meal all year. Her parents, her brother and sister and my parents were all here to celebrate. It was a great time. Thomas received a great wooden crane from his Aunt Brittany and Uncle Eli. And if you couldn't tell from the photo, he loved it. It was one of two presents he received tonight. The other was a fantastic wooden play treehouse from his Gigi. You can see that at the end of the movie below. He was quickly using the new crane to lift things up to the treehouse. Very cute... Here are some pictures I took. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
