Thomas and the Red Balloon

When Sorcha and Thomas went on a shopping trip today, Thomas was given a red balloon by a nice woman at HEB. He absolutely loved it. So... When they got home Sorcha decided to give Thomas his balloon and take a quick video, thinking she would get some great footage of Thomas loving his new balloon. Well... It didn't exactly go that way, but it was still cute enough to save and show the world. Enjoy...

Fun in the Box

We've been receiving presents from family from all over the country, so we've had a lot of excess packaging around the house. T.M. decided he wanted to play in one of the big boxes. He had a great time. Fortunately, I was able to take some photos of him playing. Enjoy the pictures...

Fun in the Bath

We've been giving Thomas a bath pretty much every night. It's become a nice routine. He has a great time and Mama can get ready for bed and take a little time off. It's usually about 20 -30 minutes of fun time in the water. I decided to take a bunch of short movies and a few pictures of him so you all could see his bath time... Enjoy the pictures...

T.M.'s First Christmas Lights

Since Thomas asked me personally to put up Christmas lights... It was easier than I thought. The hardest part was putting those damn little clips on the lights. Why don't they just sell the lights with those clips on them? Hmmm....

Walk with Mama

A quick post of some very cute pictures that Sorcha took while on a walk with T.M. He was in the sling so she held the camera over her head to take the shots. Very cute stuff... Enjoy the pictures...

Black Beanathon

Well... We've started to introduce some different foods other than just breast milk. Thomas has taken to some and not to others. He definitely did not like the bananas in breast milk combo. That was a definite no thank you. Although he absolutely loved the black beans we gave him. He just couldn't get enough. Enjoy the pictures.

Growing Up

I just wanted to post with all the new things Thomas has suddenly started doing...no pictures right now.

New in the last two weeks:
Pulling up to a standing position (a video of this will be posted later)
First tooth! (last night)
Making consonant sounds - babababa & mamama (although they don't seem to be in relation to anything yet
Holding the sippy cup and tilting it back to get water (and loving it!)
Correlating his actions with sounds from a toy (he has a set of plastic keys with buttons that make car sounds - just figured out that when he did *this* the toy did *that*)

Ok, I think that's it.

Home Alone with Dad

Today was fun. Sorcha decided she wanted to go the grocery store by herself to get a little break. So, it was Thomas and Daddy time. He took a tiny power nap for about 20 minutes then woke up and decided he wanted to play. We sat on the bed and the toy of choice was a black belt of mine. I had my phone close by so I decided to take some photos. The camera on my phone is not very good but I think you'll agree, I got some very cute shots. Enjoy the pictures.

First Halloween

Well... last night was Thomas' first Halloween. He was very excited. He decided to go as a chili pepper. It was a close call between the duck and the chili pepper. The chili pepper won, primarly because the duck costume was out of stock. Oh well. We pulled out the camping chairs and sat in our front yard with a lantern to watch all the trick or treaters come by. We had the usual, witches, ghosts and of course Buzz Lightyear. Everyone loved Thomas' costume. Maybe he can be the duck next year.

The Pumpkin Patch

We took T.M. to the pumpkin patch today. There was a cute little pumpkin patch in Leander selling all sizes of pumpkins. We went just to take pictures, but decided to buy a small $3 pumpkin since I felt a little guilty. He had a fun time.

Portraits of Thomas

We're so lucky to have someone in the family who can take portraits of Thomas for us! Too bad she lives in Washington. We took advantage of Heather's skills while she was here and got quite a few sweet pictures of Thomas. I need to pick some to get printed and actually put some on the walls!

Heather & Nolan Come to Texas

Last week, Heather and Nolan came to visit us here in Texas. They made the trip all the way from Washington state. We all had a great time and we were sad when they left. We mainly stayed close to the neighborhood, but took many walks to the park to play and hang out. Debbie and Brittany came over one day and we went to our favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant. If you look closely, you can find the picture of Thomas after he bonked his head. That would be the second bonking at this restaurant. Oh well...

Watching His Program

If any of you recently had kids, you are very aware of Baby Einstein. These programs are amazing. T.M. loves Baby Beethoven. He just loves to sit in his little chair and stare at all the crazy things on the screen. Does this mean that T.M. is going to love classical music when he gets older? Maybe... It's actually incredibly cute to watch. I took some pictures and a quick video of him watching his program. Of course he couldn't decide which was more interesting, Daddy with the camera or his program. Enjoy...

The Couch Sessions

I was looking back at some pictures I took of Thomas on June 9th. It's really amazing how much they change in such a short amount of time. He's only 4 weeks old in these pictures. For some reference, here's a link to some pictures when he was only 3 days old. Crazy...

Busy Saturday

Now that Thomas has made his peace (mostly) with the car, we've been starting to venture out more. Saturday we went to Target and then had Chinese food for lunch. It was really our first family outing to speak of. TM did great. He was able to put his newly acquired skill of sitting up to good use - he sat in a cart and a high chair for the first time and was duly fascinated. There was a minor head-bonking incident at the restaurant, but it was over pretty quickly. The pictures are from Brad's phone, so they're not great.

Sleeping Babies

Ah... Sleeping babies. What is it about a baby sleeping that makes them so cute. I'm here to tell you it's a proven fact. Sleeping babies are incredibly cute. But why? I can't figure it out. Nobody tells me I'm cute when I'm sleeping. All I here is... "honey, please be quiet, you're snoring". Ah.. The trials of fatherhood...

The Many Faces of T.M.

One of the things that I love about babies is they can make so many different faces in the matter of minutes. T.M. can look serious, happy, sad, confused in about 60 seconds... It's amazing. It's actually pretty hard to do. I've tried it. :)

Learning to sit up

About three weeks ago Thomas started holding himself up in a sitting position. He's gotten pretty good at it! I took some pictures of him doing it yesterday. I imagine he'll be sitting up pretty soon.

Joys of Fatherhood

As all little boys love to do... T.M. likes to sit on my shoulders. It's a little early, so I have to hold him pretty tight, but I'm looking forward to many events where I can hold my little man on my shoulders. Very cool.

Trip to Houston and Back

We traveled to Houston again this weekend to see Nana and Grandpa and to attend Remy and Briana's first birthday party. We were dreading the ride down because T.M. definitely does not like the car. However, we were pleasantly surprised. He did fantastic. He just hung out and played with some toys till about Giddings (half way). There we decided to stop for a break and to nurse him. When we got back on the road to our surprise, he fell asleep for about 45 minutes. After that it was smooth sailing all the way to Nana and Grandpa's playhouse.
